Chairman Marcello Banes and Covington Mayor Ronnie Johnston proclaim May as Older Americans Month
Newton County Chairman Marcello Banes and Covington Mayor Ronnie Johnston joined together recently to proclaim May Older Americans Month in Newton County and the City of Covington.
The Chairman and Mayor were joined by members of the Newton County Senior Center to celebrate the proclamation.
Banes and Johnston will celebrate the county's seniors by walking with members of the Newton County Senior Center from Turner Lake Park to the Newton County Historic Courthouse on Friday, May 3, starting at 10 a.m.
