NEWTON COUNTY, GA - The Newton County Fire Service (NCFS) is proud to announce that as of April 1, 2019, it has equipped all County fire stations with ballistic protection gear and rapid response trauma bags.
All Fire Service personnel participated in more than 40 hours of training consisting of active shooter threat drills, a stop the bleed class, mass casualty events, and a 16-hour tactical emergency casualty care course. The new gear and training allows the NCFS to gain access to patients inside a warm/hot zone at a much faster rate, which in return allows personnel to start providing life-saving patient care and treatment right away, saving more lives.
Newton County is now among the very few departments in Georgia and the Nation to have this training and gear in place. NCFS will always continue to stay on top of the latest training to better serve the needs of Newton County residents.
