[ARCHIVED] County crews picking up debris from storm until Feb. 11

Newton County crews are continuing to pick up yard debris from properties impacted by the Jan. 12 storm, tornadoes and straight-line winds placed on the right-of-way.

Cleanup of the area began directly after the storm, and Newton County crews started the process of picking up yard debris placed on the right-of-way by home owners, renters and business owners on Jan. 23. The period of pickup by County crews is set to expire this Saturday, Feb. 11.

If there are any trees, brush or yard debris on properties in the impacted areas, please place it on the right-of-way by Saturday, Feb. 11. Newton County will not be picking up construction materials or household waste.
