[ARCHIVED] Upper Oconee Watershed Flood Map Revisions

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is proposing revisions to its Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the Upper Oconee Watershed.

Preliminary (Draft) updated FIRMS for Newton County can be found at hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/prelimdownload

An in-person Open House will be scheduled in the winter/spring of 2022, after which owners of affected properties will have a 90-day appeal period. The new FIRMs are anticipated to go into effect in Spring of 2023.
