How can I help the youth in Newton County?

-You can volunteer to be a Community Accountability Board Member to assist in the BARJ Program.
       -You can serve as a mentor to youth through the Community Accountability Board/BARJ Program.
       -You can assist victims in seeking and receiving needed services.
       -You can assist victims and offenders by providing community service opportunities in your community
-You can volunteer for the Citizen Review Panel (A panel of Newton County citizens who review all cases of children in foster care, in the legal custody of the Department of Family and Children's Services, within ninety (90) days of the entering of the disposition order, but no later than six (6) months following the child's placement in temporary foster care.  After the initial review, cases must be reviewed at least every six (6) months thereafter to determine parents' progress towards completion of case plans and to review the child's status and/or well-being while in foster care.  The panel will then submit findings and recommendations to the court.)
-You can become a volunteer for the Truancy Intervention Project/Truancy Court.
