REGULATIONS 1. No alcoholic beverages of any kind allowed. 2. The boats shall be powered by electric motors or paddles only. No boat with a gasoline engine mounted on the transom is allowed on the reser- voir. 3. All individuals that are fishing must comply with the State of Georgia Department of Natural Resources fishing rules and regulations, creel lim- its, safety, licenses, etc., and 12 minimum on bass. 4. The use of a set hook, trout line, seine or fish bas- ket is prohibited. 5. Access to the reservoir shall be made only at the entrance gate. 6. Those individuals who elect to fish from the bank must fish from within the marked boundaries. 7. Wading, swimming, or bathing is prohibited. 8. The use of trail bikes, mini bikes, go carts, and motorcycles not equipped for street use is prohib- ited. 9. Operation or use of any audio or noise producing device, motorized equipment, or vehicles in such a manner to unreasonably annoy or endanger other person is prohibited. 10. Individuals shall not discharge any gray water or waste matter on the site and shall keep their trash and litter self contained and disposed of properly. 11. The Discharge of Firearms is Strictly Prohibited Under the Newton County Ordinance 31-102-1.B 12. Destruction, injury defacement, or removal of Reservoir property is prohibited. 13. Individuals may be required to show proper identification upon request by an authorized representa- tive of the Reservoir and/or the Department of Natural Resources. 14. Once boaters cast off from the recreation area they are to stay in boats except in emergency situations. 15. All pets must be restrained by owners (leash law enforced in area). 16. Failure to abide by the regulations will result in expulsion from the recreation area. Your cooperation in abiding by the above regulations will assist us in providing a safe, enjoyable outing, while protecting our valuable water resources. FEES Newton and Walton County Residents: No Charge All Out of County Residents: $5.00 per boat and $5.00 per vehicle HOURS OF OPERATION: April - October 7:00 am - 9:00 pm November - March 7:00 am - 6:00 pm The Cornish Creek Reservoir remains open throughout the year. The Cornish Creek Reservoir offers a natural set- ting to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Fish, picnic, read, enjoy nature and watch wildlife within min- utes of your home. The Cornish Creek Reservoir hopes that you enjoy the natural resources that we manage in order to insure quality drinking water for the residents of Newton and Walton County. FISH OF THE RESERVOIR: The reservoir is managed in coordination with the Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Division. The Reservoir has Large Mouth Bass, White Bass, Hybrid Bass, Bream, Redear Sunfish, Crappie, Catfish (Channel and Bullheads), and Chain Pickerel. The Lake Record for a large Mouth Bass (15 lbs., 13 oz.) was caught in 1993.
