Newton County Senior Services offers a variety of services and activities. For enrollment to center, you must call Northeast Georgia RDC, Inc. Area Agency on Aging 1 800 474-7540
Annual registration fee is $ 30.00.
SERVICES TRANSPORTATION Newton County Senior Services will transport within Newton County, persons who are active members of the Senior Center and are enrolled in daily programs to and from the Senior Center.
There is a $2.00 transportation charge for trips to and from the Senior Center. Transportation is billed monthly. MEALS A hot lunch is provided Monday through Friday for seniors who are active in daily programs. Special meals are prepared during annual holiday luncheons and special events. You must purchase a ticket for lunch at the Senior Center front office. Lunch tickets are $1.50 for members of the Senior Center. Lunch tickets for members after 11:00 AM are $ 3.00. Lunch ticket upon reservation for non-members is $ 4.00. Home Delivery Meals are available for all qualified seniors who are 60 years old and live in Newton County. ACTIVITIES AND CLASSES
CERAMIC CLASS is held every Monday through Wednesday. You must be an active member of the center to participate. Please contact Ceramic Instructor for class schedules and further info.
EXERCISE AND STRENGTHENING CLASS is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. TURNER LAKE QUILTERS meet every Monday and Thursday from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
ARTS AND CRAFT WORKSHOPS are held quarterly. Check monthly calendar for dates.
ART CLASS held every Wednesday from 10:00 to 12 Noon. LINE DANCING CLASS held every Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. DANCE FOR YOUR LIFE CLASSES held every Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN WORKSHOPS and GROUP SESSIONS held once a month. Check monthly calendar for dates. SEWING CLASS held every Wednesday from 10:00 to 12 noon. PINOCHLE CLUB every Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00

LIBRARY available for seniors who love to read. Seniors can check books out and return when they are finished.

NUTRITION CLASSES conducted by the University of Georgia once a month. See monthly calendar for date.
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS scheduled throughout the month. BOOK CLUB meets every 3rd Friday of each month 12:30 p.m. Check monthly calendar for date. PIZZAZZ TRAVEL CLUB meets every 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM in the Senior Center Fellowship Hall. GROUP SESSIONS and WORSHOPS are held once a month on selected topics.
WATER AEROBICS is scheduled every Thursday for Senior Center Members from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Covington Athletic Center.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES We are always looking for Volunteers to help with Home Delivery Meals and Special Events. If you are interested in volunteering, please call Teresa Williams or Freda Reed at 770 787-0038.
DONATION OPPORTUNITIES Newton County Senior Services is a non-profit organization funded through the Older Americans Act of 1965, grants from United Way, Snapping Shoals EMC, GRN, Community Care Community Services, General Mills, Community Foundation of Newton County, and private donors.
