Newton County Board of Commissioners Newton County, Georgia December 7, 2011 Legal Advertisement for Bids Federal Project No. TEE-0008-00(186) Newton County Bid # 12-06 Sealed bids for furnishing all labor, material, equipment, and services necessary for the following work will be received at the Newton County Administrative Building, Suite 201, 1113 Usher Street, Covington, Georgia 30014, no later than 2:00 PM, local time on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at which time the bids shall be opened and read aloud. This will be a Federally assisted contract and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules and regulations is required. From the library the trail will go cross-country south to Martin Street where it will turn east, connect with the recently installed pedestrian tunnel beneath the by-pass and continue east to a ridge paralleling the by-pass. There the trail will turn east and continue to Eastside High School, 10245 Eagle Drive, Covington, Ga. Newton County Board of Commissioners INVITATION FOR PROPOSAL RFP # 12-09 SALEM ROAD OVERLAY DISTRICT January 10, 2012 The Newton County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified consultants to develop ordinances for a Salem Road Overlay District. A Non-Mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Newton County Administrative Services, at the above address. All consultants and subcontractors that are members of the consultant’s team are encouraged to attend. ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Newton County Board Of Commissioners All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid. Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount, will be required of the successful bidder. Bonds must be written by an acceptable Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury, Circular 570, latest edition. NOTE: Contractor and all subcontractors must obtain a business license in Georgia, be fully insured, and be a Licensed Contractor in the State of Georgia.INSURANCE: Contractor shall maintain the following insurance (a) comprehensive general liability, including blanket contractual, covering bodily injuries with limits of no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, and property damage with limits of no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence; and (b) commercial automobile liability, including blanket contractual, covering bodily injuries with limits of no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, and property damage with limits of no less than $1,000,000 per accident (c) statutory worker’s compensation insurance, including $1,000,000 employer’s liability insurance (d) employee dishonesty and/or crimes coverage with respect to personnel of Contractor having access to County buildings, with limits of no less than $50,000 per occurrence. All insurance shall be provided by an insurer(s) acceptable to the County, and shall provide for thirty (30) days prior notice of cancellation to the County. Upon request, Contractor shall deliver to the County a certificate or policy of insurance evidencing Contractor’s compliance with this paragraph. Contractor shall abide by all terms and conditions of the insurance and shall do nothing to impair of invalidate the coverage. The successful bidder shall secure and pay for all permits, assessments, charges or fees required in connection with the proposed construction. Answers to all questions shall be provided a minimum of 72 hours prior to the time of the bid. Newton County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, the right to reject any and all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional bids and to reject the bid of any bidder whom Owner believes would not be in the best interest of the Project to make an award to that bidder whether because the bid is not responsive, the bidder is unqualified, or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the Owner .
