Mission: The mission of the Public Building Department is to provide a safe, clean, comfortable and functional environment within county buildings through the delivery of design, construction, renovation, maintenance, repair, facility operations, security and custodial services and a centralized fund for the payment of utilities and insurance. The CUSTOMERS of the Public Buildings Department include the Newton County employees, staff, departments, functions and people that directly support the citizens and businesses of Newton County. This is a relatively new Department that was created to oversee the overall maintenance and upkeep of all 40 county buildings and numerous other sites. Also this department is responsible for the initial training and implementation of the new Risk Management program.
