7134 Puckett Street Covington, GA 30014 (H)770-788-1994 I was elected by the citizens of Newton County, November 5, 1996 to serve the people of the fourth district After being elected to the Board of Commissioners I completed all courses required by the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) to become a Certified County Commissioner. I have been a Certified County Commissioner for the past twelve (12) years. I am very fortunate to continue my education through the University Of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute Of Government and do so on a yearly basis. In 1976 I graduated from Newton County High School and after high school I attended DeKalb Community College. I am married to Sandy Henderson and we have eight children, Mandy, Quint, Jessie, John, Anthony, Jaquan, Nikeshia and Nikeria. We are members of the Rising Son Christian Church where I serve as Chairman of the Deacon Board. I am thankful to the citizens of Newton County for allowing me to be the senior member of the Newton County Board of Commissioners as I have served more years than any elected member. I have tried to the best of my ability to help move our community upward, not downward, forward, not backward, as we move our beautiful county into the future. Over the past thirteen (13) years of service I have been a part of many community projects. Along with the Chairman and the Board of Commissioners, as well as, you, the citizens, we have worked to make our community better in Newton County. Here are a few projects and accomplishments that stand out in District Four and throughout Newton County.
