NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS
In accordance with Georgia Law (OCGA 48-5-264.1), please be advised that staff  (appraisers or data collectors) of the Tax Assessors Office periodically conducts field checks to update property records that determine fair market values or other tax assessment related decisions.

The Appraisal staff will be conducting field visits to Property Evaluation Areas 1, 7, 8 & 9 in September & October 2009. See the following link for a color coded map of the Property Evaluation Areas.

All staff members performing field visits are issued a Newton County Identification Badge with their photograph. Their vehicle will also display a county decal. If there is any question about the identity of a staff member, do not hesitate to contact our office at (770) 784-2030, ext 0.
Please note that the Appraiser/Data Collector does not set values at the time of the visit. This visit is to gather data necessary information including, but not limited to, exterior measurements and photos. Collecting this information typically does not require access to the interior, but on occasion it may be necessary to determine accurate square footage or other appraisal information.
