The Water Resources Department oversees, is responsible for, or otherwise assists in the following county functions, among others:

Water Conservation Efforts
Construction of the new Bear Creek Reservoir
Oversight of the NPDES program in the County
Inspection and enforcement of NPDES and E&SC regulations

Issuing Citations for violations 
Maintaining various databases 
Potentially polluting businesses
Habitual violators
Inspections
MS4 structures
Detention and Retention ponds
Maintenance needs/records
Complaint log and actions/responses
Reviewing construction drawings for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Education and Awareness (with KCNB)  Stormwater Stenciling Program Stormwater Stenciling Program
Pollution Prevention events i.e. Rivers Alive Cleanup & Great American Cleanup w/ KCNB 
Adopt a Stream (with Georgia Wildlife Federation)
Greenspace acquisition and Maintenance (with Special Projects Coordinator)
