Comprehensive Transportation Plan Open House on Wednesday

Post Date:08/15/2017 5:55 PM

The public is invited to an open house for the Newton County Comprehensive Transportation Plan on Wednesday, Aug. 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Center for Preservation and Planning, 2104 Washington Street; Covington, Georgia 30014.

The open house will provide the public with a chance to learn all about Newton County's transportation planning process and future of the county's roads, walkways, trails and transportation needs.

The Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) will help guide the county's transportation needs through 2040. It will assess changes in transportation conditions, needs, policies and priorities since the previous plan, which was completed in 2008 and runs through 2030.

The purpose of the CTP is to identify long-range transportation strategies, projects and programs that address anticipated multimodal needs and issues throughout the county.
